The unmistakable work of renowned architect and designer Ilum Wikkelsø, the Croissant was his irreverent take on the more traditional Chesterfield sofa, inspired by French pastries.

First launched in 1962, it captured the spirit of an optimistic decade and has been a collector's favorite ever since.

Now, GUBI has subtly refined the original to suit today's body shapes and give a new generation the opportunity to enjoy Wikkelsø's vision.

Available in leather or a wide range of upholstery fabrics, the complex curves of the iconic Croissant shape are achieved through meticulous hand-stitching and sit on a base and legs in walnut or oiled oak.

Croissant is available in the following upholstery fabrics:

Kvadrat Shaco Zero: 65% cotton, 20% acrylic, 15% polyester

Soft and luxurious, this bouclé fabric uses a pearl-effect yarn to create a highly textured look that gives it a sophisticated character. Inspired by Parisian haute couture, its overall look is classic and elegant.

Dedar, Smilla: 44% viscose, 23% cotton, 21% linen, 7% bamboo, 5% nylon.

Dedar's designers looked to the north for inspiration to create Smilla, a soft and durable chenille. It delicately combines a range of fibers, including linen and cotton, and brings the warmth and comfort so prized in Scandinavian design. With its roots in high society fashion of the 1920s and 1930s, chenille is now a favorite of interior designers, and Smilla's soft, velvety feel and simplicity of design make it ideal for contemporary interiors.

GUBI Chamois: 100% aniline leather with a nubuck finish.

Croissant is made to order, and the estimated delivery time is 3 to 6 weeks for the Chamois/Walnut version and 10 to 12 weeks for all other combinations.
